Daffodil Day Rally – Brewtown
August 24
The main Wellington event is Saturday 24th August at Brewtown Upper Hutt. 10AM to 2PM. Admission is a $20.00 donation to the Cancer Society.
This is shaping up to be even bigger and better than last year. There is undercover parking for lots of cars and the usual cafes and bars open at Brewtown. ( See attached poster )
It worked well last year for Rover club members to meet up outside and go in as a group. We managed to keep most of our cars together in the display. If it suits you? Let’s meet at Upper Hutt station carpark at 9.50AM and go in as a group.
Important – please note: the VCC have advised the following:
1) The hosts – the Vintage Car Club – is responsible for cleaning the venue afterwards. This won’t be too onerous – we’ll just be picking up any rubbish that’s been left behind and cleaning up any oil stains! Cleaning up oil stains? Yup – on the bitumen so, if you know that your car drips oil (apparently some old cars do) we ask that you bring along something to catch the drips on – like an old piece of carpet.
2) The second is Public Liability Insurance. Vintage Car Club members are automatically covered under the club’s policy held with Vero. That policy will also cover “guests” (ie non-VCC members) but you do need to sign up for it, using the form attached to this message. There is NO COST. In the unlikely event of any of us accidentally damaging, say, Brewtown property, or maybe parking on someone’s foot, then we are covered!
The form that you complete will be destroyed after the event, once we know there’s been no accidents.
If you are bringing your car to Brewtown, please print and complete the form and bring it with you!
